Here is a list of my favorite sites on the World Wide Web. You'll find links to my friends' sites, among other pages I visit frequently. If you have such places and think they're worth sharing their locations, please drop me a suggestion!

Here's my selection of a few free Internet based email accounts.

  • Mail.com
    • Want to open an Email account on the Internet? Look no further, Mail.com gives you the excellent service. Very important characteristic: Antispam politics is great!
  • Yahoo! Mail
    • Another fine Email service. Recommended. :)
  • Opera Mail
    • Functional Email service, just like Opera web browser itself.
  • Gmail
    • 1 GB of Inbox space. To store all of your messages, many times over. Speechless.

You need to find some content on the Internet? You can use some of the specialized software for that purpose, like Copernic, or you can contact couple of right places which I think are the best bet for your time.

  • Google
    • Almighty Google. The most popular Internet search engine. This is obligatory starting point of all my information search on the Net. On the front page of this site you ca find Google Internet search.

  • AltaVista

    • Sometimes even mighty Google cannot know it all. Although the oldest out there, AltaVista stall proves to be useful and often can be very rewarding.

  • AlltheWeb.com

    • For this search engine is said to be the greatest competition to Google. You can check out why.

If your native language is not English, surely you have suffered in one way or the other because the fact that all software is in English, often leaving you no choice of using it some other language, preferably yours. Things don't need to be that way, and you can help. Don't worry, you don't have to be a programmer to translate software into your native language. Below is a list of sites that are dedicated to localization of Open Source software into my native language, that is Serbian. All you have to do is to find similar sites that surely exist for your language, and join in!

  • Prevod.org

    • This is a good place to start working on a localization of desktop environment and applications. The site deals with the translation of  GNOME, one of the two most popular desktops on a Linux operating system.

  • Recnik

    • The localization of the desktop is ongoing process for several years now, it is constantly being updated and upgraded following the release of new versions of GNOME. On this page there is a database of translated words and expressions from English to Serbian, most commonly appearing in every day's work. The job is thus much easier and synchronized.

  • Fedora

    • The same thing, only slightly different. This site informs its visitors of the localization of Fedora, popular Linux distribution which development is being supervised by Red Hat.
