| | What can one get as a present to someone who bought almost a whole mall recently? This question troubled us gathered at an informal Popeye birthday party. He had an additional reason to party, for he managed to retrieve "his precious", SIM card from the now lost mobile phone. More on this extraordinary adventure you can read on Popeye's personal page. | | What are two nervous looking guys with an installation of Microsoft Windows XP 64 bit Edition up to in three in the morning? Well valid registration key of course! And what connection is there with Nikola Kojo with a scene from well known movie , saying: "Imagine the Balija..."? You'll have to contact me for that information. :) |
| This week Belgrade hosted the third annual Beer Fest. How was it? Well, rivers of beer, that's for sure! :) I had the rare opportunity to take a look (and remain terrified) at the antique photo of my old colleague Doggy, when he was serving our fatherland. You had the chance to read his soldier's diary here. |
| Our water polo men have done it again! Fresh from winning the world title in Montreal, they managed to do it again by winning the World League which was finished this evening in Belgrade, our capital, by defeating the very good team of Hungary, with the convincing result 16:6 (4:2, 6:0, 3:2, 3:2). |
| "Yahoo! The fastest snail on a planet!", in an adrenalin spurred burst of ecstasy, yelled the snail, while "flying" more than one hundred kilometers per hour glued to the haul of Citroen. What he's been doing there in the first place, no one knew. |
| First working (hmm?) meeting of the translators team with the representative of Novell and IBM for this region was held in a cocktail bar "Cruise", at Sava river coast. I believe that we made some deal, but after that many emptied cocktail glasses I was not able to remember what we've agreed upon. Maybe some of the lavishing girls who constantly distracted attendees know more on the subjects we spoke of. :) |

| This may prove to be sort of a historic day. Today was held the very first meeting of people working on a translation of Open Source software into Serbian language for a couple of years, united under one common task - the first official localization of a Linux distribution. |
| The fact that we're planning to develop a project based on a previous work, and there's a monetary factor as well, only speaks in favor of seriousness of the whole affair. The presence of GNOME translators and KDE desktop project coordinator seems serious enough.
There was differences though. So we all learned that Serbian Gnomes are fond of malt beer, and it seems that KDE commands to its minions to drink only light beer, or Kbeer. :) |

| Another birthday! Isidora, very best wishes to you from your neighbor. |
|
| Today was the birthday of a friend very dear to me. Thank you for not dismissing my trust in you. |

| | More of automobiles. Have you had a chance to gaze "Ferrari" red Fića in a cabriolet variant? Here's the chance. |

| Popeye, in the criminal underworld also known as Branko, took by surprise all that knew him with an exceptional move - he bought a car! That may have been expected, but not the model he has chosen, Citroen Xantia. The deal was made in the greatest "wild" settlement in Europe, Kaluđerica. Well done! Finally the decision he has come upon with his head, and not the gas pedal. |

| One can witness some of the strangest things in one's life, and in places that deemed to be least candidates for an exclamation. Hence at the used cars market in Bubanj Potok, it was put on a display this, miraculously preserved model of Toyota Corilla. The price - as low it can get! |

| Goran, former director of mine, finally decided to buy himself a brand new cellular phone, Nokia 6230i, after almost three months of careful deliberation. Well done! This is small step for a mankind, but huge for Goran, because it looks like tectonic plates get more action than he :) |

| Long awaited of a famous fantasy saga of our time, from a galaxy far, far away, is here at last. Serbian Jedi veterans from ruthless combats fought over the Internet with hordes of foreign mercenaries and traitors of our country, were able to take a look at this somewhat Romanesque version of their adventures. I don't know about you, but here in Belgrade, there are a lot of kids wandering about the town late at night. ;) |
| Vladan, my close cousin, today has flown to the USA, the city of Durham, in search for a better life. Another engineer bites the dust. This was very unpleasant reminder on how little has changed in my country for the everyday people, who want to earn their living, not just to vegetate. |

From March 25 'till April 3 there was the 43rd Annual Belgrade Auto Show (or rather women show, someone would said, but in any case, there was beauty. Went there, saw it... And went home by city bus. Even the cheapest cars were still beyond the realm of modest inhabitant of this country, beside the aggressive display of many banks (at times one could saw more of them than auto companies) who offered leasing contracts, seemingly lucrative only to their issuers. |

| Beside the fact that winter is the time of viral diseases (what we don't want), In Serbia it is also the time of splendid feasts with plenty of delicious food (what we crave for, without constrains). Especially if the lady of the house take the dinner seriously, like Isidora did (Copyright © Doggy and the Family), thus "terrifying" unsuspecting visitors one snowy Saturday... |
